Lost and Fountains
Lost and Fountains is an architectural-documentary photography project exploring the intersection between urban planning and shifting realities through water features in Tel Aviv’s public spaces: fountains, ecological ponds, shallow pools, and hybrid installations. The project examines how urban aesthetics, once symbols of optimism, development, and prestige, erode or transform over time. Some of the sites remain functional and well-maintained, while others have been abandoned, absorbed quietly into the urban landscape. The work seeks to capture moments where design meets the fragility of maintenance, and where new aesthetics emerge, sometimes intentional, often incidental due to neglect, repurposing, or environmental change. Through the camera’s lens, I explore the cultural, historical, and material layers of these spaces, offering a fresh perspective on their quiet presence within the living city. At its core, the project asks: what does a city look like through places designed to serve the public but often long forgotten by both sight and memory?
